Super 10 opens a new store in Los Andes

Residents of Los Andes now have a new Super 10 store, located at 651–653 Esmeralda. It is the brand’s second location in the municipality. The opening forms part of the 2026–2028 organic growth plan of SMU, the parent company of Unimarc, Super 10 and Alvi, and marks the format’s second store opening of 2026.

Super 10 is a soft discount format aimed at end consumers, with stores designed to simplify everyday shopping. Its sales floors feature shelves displaying the products currently in stock and efficient operating processes, together with refrigeration and lighting systems that support more responsible energy use.

The new store has a 1,060-square-meter sales floor and five checkout lanes designed to streamline the payment process. It also offers an assortment of 3,587 products, including food, perishable goods, freshly prepared items and non-food products.

The store’s value proposition is focused on low prices, private-label brands and quality products, helping families make the most of their budgets and complete their shopping quickly, comfortably and conveniently.

The mayor of Los Andes, Manuel Rivera, said: “We are very grateful to SMU for keeping its word. They told us they would not leave Los Andes, and today we can see that they have fulfilled their commitment to preserving local jobs while also providing new infrastructure and standards. We would therefore like to express our gratitude to SMU and Super 10 on behalf of the entire Los Andes community for maintaining these employment opportunities and providing many families in Los Andes and the Aconcagua Valley with access to affordable prices.”

Eduardo García, Head of Super 10, added: “We are very pleased to open our first store in Los Andes and continue bringing our value proposition to more customers in the Valparaíso Region. We want families to be able to shop simply, quickly and conveniently, with access to low prices and quality products every day.”

The opening will also contribute to local job creation, with a total workforce of 40 employees, 77.5% of whom are women. The store’s operation also represents 30 full-time equivalent positions, 90% of which are held by residents of the municipality.

The new store forms part of SMU’s 2026–2028 strategic plan, which includes the opening of 60 new stores across its different formats in Chile and Peru, including ten Super 10 locations. Through this plan, the company continues to make progress toward its goal of expanding its coverage and bringing its value propositions to more municipalities across the country.
