Club Alvi Mayorista expands its presence in the Valparaíso Region with the opening of its first store in Quillota.

Club Alvi Mayorista, an SMU subsidiary, opened its fifth store in the Valparaíso Region in the city of Quillota. The opening ceremony was attended by the city’s mayor, Luis Mella, representatives from civil society, and company executives.

The new store is located at 205 Fernando Monckeberg Avenue, Unit A1, and has a total area of 1,943 square meters. It features 10 checkout lanes available to customers and a workforce in which more than 50% are women and 89% of employees are residents of Quillota.

“There are now five stores in this region—Valparaíso, Quilpué, Los Andes, Concón and Quillota. This reflects a wholesale network that continues to grow to serve customers, families and merchant partners who see Alvi as an ideal strategic partner to supply and strengthen their businesses. On our side, we want to continue consolidating our omnichannel strategy to drive growth and deepen our relationship with all customers,” said Francisco Gaete, Alvi Format Manager.

Alvi is the leading wholesale player in the industry, serving more than 123,000 merchant customers from the Coquimbo Region to Magallanes, with a value proposition based on offers specifically designed for neighborhood stores, liquor stores, bakeries and the entire HORECA channel, while also serving end consumers. “We have increased the number of stores through conversions from the Mayorista 10 format and the opening of new Alvi locations, allowing us to grow from 32 stores in 2022 to the 57 with which we are closing 2025,” Gaete added.

In addition, according to SMU’s recently announced 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, five new Alvi store openings and 29 store upgrades are planned over the next three years. The wholesale chain aims to strengthen price and promotion competitiveness to reinforce its leadership in the segment. Alvi also expects to increase its share of e-commerce and direct sales from 6% to 15%, while optimizing an efficient assortment to lead each merchant segment.
